Incheon Airport to Seoul: train, bus or taxi
AREX express vs all-stop train, airport limousine buses, taxis and what each costs in time.
Incheon International Airport (ICN) is about 50 km west of Seoul. There are three good ways in, and the right one depends on where you are staying and how much luggage you have.
AREX train (fastest and cheapest)
The Airport Railroad runs from both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
- Express train: non-stop to Seoul Station in about 43 minutes from T1 (about 51 from T2). Reserved seats, luggage racks. Tickets at the orange machines or online; discounts are common on Klook.
- All-stop train: about 59 minutes to Seoul Station, with stops including Gimpo Airport, Digital Media City and Hongik University. Pay with a T-money card; it is roughly the price of a long subway ride.
If your hotel is in Hongdae, Gongdeok or near Seoul Station, the all-stop train takes you almost to the door. From Seoul Station you can transfer to subway lines 1 and 4.
Airport limousine bus
Buses leave from the first-floor curb at both terminals, numbered by route. They cover Myeongdong, Gangnam, Jamsil, Dongdaemun and most hotel areas without transfers. Travel time is 60–90 minutes depending on traffic. Pay cash or by card at the ticket booth, or tap T-money when boarding. Fares are a bit higher than the train but you skip stairs and transfers.

Klook →Taxi
Regular taxis to central Seoul take 60–80 minutes and cost several times the bus fare; late at night a surcharge applies. "International taxi" and app-booked cars (Kakao T) are reliable. Avoid anyone soliciting rides inside the terminal.

AREX stops running around midnight and the buses thin out after 11 pm. If you land after 11 pm, plan for a taxi or a pre-booked transfer, or stay at an airport hotel.
